Abstract:
Provided is a water purification material comprising: a composite metal hydroxide that has a layered structure and comprises iron ions and calcium ions and/or comprises nitrogen ions and sulfur ions; and calcium hydroxide and/or ferric hydroxide. As measured by x-ray crystal structure analysis, the main peak strength due to the aforementioned calcium hydroxide and/or ferric hydroxide is at most half the main peak strength due to the aforementioned layered structure of a composite metal hydroxide.
