Abstract:

This water treatment apparatus, which is provided with an electric deionized water production device (EDI device) (10) in which at least a portion of ion exchange bodies loaded in a desalination chamber (23) is an anionic exchange body, comprises an addition means for adding an iodine-containing oxidant as a slime inhibitor to water to be treated that is to be fed to the EDI device (10). The iodine-containing oxidant is, for example, a solution obtained by dissolving iodine and an iodide in water.
