Abstract:
Provided is a waterproof connector of a novel structure, with which it is possible to reduce insertion resistance when a rubber plug is to be inserted in an electric wire insertion hole while maintaining waterproof performance, and also with which it is possible to achieve an improvement in allowing the rubber plug to impart an excessive pressing force to an insulation covering. A waterproof connector 10 is equipped with: a housing 14 which houses a terminal 12 therein; an electric wire insertion hole 24 which is formed in the housing 14 and which has drawn therethrough a covered electric wire 16 that is connected to the terminal 12; and an annular rubber plug 18 which is externally insertion mounted onto the covered electric wire 16 so as to provide liquid-tight seal between an outer circumferential surface of the covered electric wire 16 and an inner circumferential surface of the electric wire insertion hole 24. At least one of a pair of axial ends of the rubber plug 18 is provided with a recessed area 60 that is opened outward in the axial direction.
