Abstract:
A releasable packer (10) has a control line (18) therethrough. A hydraulic release mechanism (14) of the packer is controlled from the surface by application of flow and pressure. A modification of the packer and release mechanism using resettable collets (142) and return springs (144) allows multiple sets and releases of the packer.
