Abstract:
Provided is a wheel drive device capable of suppressing a decrease in coil temperature detection accuracy and increasing electric motor control response. The wheel drive device is provided with: an electric motor (1) that drives a wheel; a wheel bearing that transmits rotation of an electric motor to a wheel while rotatably supporting the wheel; and an oil feed mechanism that guides cooling and lubricating oil from the inside of a main shaft of the electric motor (1) in a radially outer direction, and that ejects the oil onto coils (78) of the electric motor (1). A temperature detection means (Sa) for detecting the temperature of the coils (78) is disposed above the center (L1) of the main shaft and in a gap (δ) between the coils (78, 78) adjacent in a circumference direction.
