Abstract:
A method and a machine for winding a yarn released from a yarn feeder in the tangential direction. When high speed winding of yarn is tried, a large variation of tension is caused by increase in rotation speed of the yarn feeder and the yarn is damaged or broken. A yarn dividing machine or a false twisting machine causing no damage or breakage of yarn at high speed can be realized according to the invention. In the inventive method and machine, the yarn is wound under constant yarn speed control until rotation speed of the yarn feeder reaches a specified value, i.e. a value causing a significant variation in the tension of the yarn being released, and rotation of a winding shaft is controlled such that rotation speed of the yarn feeder is kept constant after it has reached the specified value.
