Provided is a wireless communication device capable of reliably detecting a downlink without using CRS. The wireless communication device comprises: a communication unit (220) for using an unlicensed band to perform wireless communication; and a detection unit (241) for detecting a downlink on the basis of a second downlink signal different from a first downlink signal transmitted periodically. The detection unit starts monitoring PDCCH after detecting the downlink.
