Abstract:
A wireless communication system comprises a plurality of base stations wirelessly connected with a relay station, the relay station being provided with: a multi-element antenna including a plurality of antenna elements; a wireless communication unit configured such that, among the plurality of antenna elements, a first antenna element wirelessly connects to a first base station and a second antenna element wirelessly connects to a second base station; and a control unit which performs switching to connect the first antenna element and/or the second antenna element to another base station in accordance with the occurrence of an event.
