Title:
WIRELESS POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/086280
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a wireless power transmission system, wherein freedom in the orientation with which a power reception apparatus can be mounted with respect to a power transmission apparatus is increased, without sacrificing power transmission efficiency. The wireless power transmission system is provided with: a power transmission apparatus (101) comprising a passive electrode (11) and an active electrode (12); and a power reception apparatus (201) comprising an active electrode (24) and passive electrodes (21, 22, 23). When the power reception apparatus (201) is placed longitudinally with respect to the power transmission apparatus (101), power is transmitted from the power transmission apparatus (101) to the power reception apparatus (201) by having the active electrodes (12, 24) face each other. The active electrodes (12, 24) are made so that the area facing each other when the power reception apparatus (201) is placed transversely with respect to the power transmission apparatus (101) is roughly equal to the area facing each other when the power reception apparatus (201) is placed longitudinally with respect to the power transmission apparatus (101).
