A work machine according to the present invention is provided with an object detection device, an image-capturing device, and a control device which controls ignition of a motor. The control device determines whether or not an object is present in the surroundings of a machine body on the basis of a detection signal detected by the object detection device. The control device starts the motor upon acquiring a motor ignition instruction from an external information terminal if no objects are determined to be present in the surroundings of the machine body. If an object is determined to be present in the surroundings of the machine body after acquisition of the motor ignition instruction from the external information terminal, the control device does not start the motor, and sends, to the external information terminal, video data captured by the image-capturing device and a motor ignition approval request. The control device starts the motor upon acquiring an approval instruction for the motor ignition approval request from the external information terminal.
