Abstract:
A zoned freeform surface astigmatism-eliminating progressive addition lens and a design method. The present invention mainly solves the problem that a conventional freeform surface design cannot eliminate astigmatism and can only perform limited compression on astigmatism in an aberration zone. The zoned freeform surface astigmatism-eliminating progressive addition lens and the design method provided in the present invention differs from the prior art in that: according to the zoned freeform surface proposed by the present invention, independent secondary optimization is performed on a surface form in each sub-zone, so that astigmatism can be suppressed to a certain extent or even completely eliminated; and the zoned freeform surface formed by assembling and combining sub-zones has spherical refractive power and addition power distribution similar to that of a conventional freeform surface. Under the astigmatism elimination effect, the entire lens aperture of the zoned freeform surface progressive addition lens is an available optical zone in which the remaining zones, other than a traditional far vision zone and near vision zone, can be used as medium-distance transition zones. Therefore, when the lens is worn, a clear dynamic field-of-view range of a human eye would no longer be limited by an aberration zone of the lens.
