Abstract:
The invention relates to biocompatible porous materials whose pore surfaces are chemically modified, and to the production of said materials. Starting with porous base supports whose pore surfaces and outer surfaces are modified with epoxide groups, the inventive porous materials are produced in two steps as follows: 1) the epoxide groups of the outer surfaces are reacted with nucleophilic reagents and with a particulate catalyst whose particle diameter is too large for the catalyst particles to penetrate the pores of the base support; and 2) reacting the epoxide groups remaining in the pores; functional ligands such as separation effectors or (bio)catalysts can be introduced.
