Abstract:
End group-locked polyalkoxylated alcohols of formula (I), R<1>O[CH2CH(CH)3O]p[CH2CH(R<2>)O]qR<3>, wherein R<1> represents a linear, aliphatic hydrocarbon radical with 1 to approximately 22 carbon atoms or a mixture of different radicals of this type, R<2> represents a hydrogen atom or a low alkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R<3> represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, aliphatic, optionally aryl-substituted acyclic or cyclic, hydrocarbon radical with 1 to approximately 78 carbon atoms and optionally one or more hydroxy groups and/or ether groups -O- or a mixture of different radicals of this type, p represents a number from 0 to approximately 15 and q represents a number from 0 to approximately 50 and the sum of p and q is at least 1; can (i) be used in a detergent for hard surfaces to reduce the rain effect and/or the fogging effect; (ii) be contained in a detergent for hard surfaces, combined with one or more other anionic and/or non-ionic tensides; and (iii) be used in a method for reducing the rain effect and/or the fogging effect on a hard surface being treated with a liquid detergent, said surface being treated with a liquid detergent in concentrated or diluted form, containing one or more end group-locked polyalkoxylated alcohols of formula (I).
