Abstract:
The fibre Bragg grating sensor array has several Bragg gratings (1i, i = 1,2, ... N) disposed one after the other in an optical fibre (1) with different Bragg wavelengths ( lambda i). The wavelengths ( lambda 0i) located in the fibre in the proximity of said Bragg wavelengths, which are varied individually with different frequencies ( omega i), are simultaneously transmitted to the gratings and the substantially simultaneous grating reflecting frequency coded Bragg wavelengths are separated according to their frequency and phase decoded. The invention provides the advantage of being cost-effective, especially when several fibres are used.
