Abstract:
One aspect of the invention consists in a method of setting bit rate adaptation parameters specific to each service in a mobile radio system, in which method said parameters are fixed relative to each other approximately in proportion to corresponding target values of the energy per bit to noise ratio Eb/N0, the target value of the ratio Eb/N0 for a given service corresponding to the energy per bit to noise ratio necessary to achieve the target quality of service required for that service.
