PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cerium oxide nanoparticles excellent in dispersibility in a wide range of polar to non-polar solvents, monomers and the like and a method for producing the same, and a dispersion body and a resin composite body of the same.SOLUTION: There are provided (1) cerium oxide nanoparticles surface-treated with a hydroxyl group-free carboxylic acid and a hydroxyl group-containing carboxylic acid; and (2) the cerium oxide nanoparticles, where the hydroxyl group-free carboxylic acid is an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid or an aromatic monocarboxylic acid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
