Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for manufacturing dome glass, capable of polishing even a portion exceeding a hemisphere region and expanding a visual field, without having flaws on the surface layer or inside of the glass and obstructing a camera image; an air-cooling device; and dome glass.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing dome glass comprises: a heating step of heating a plate-shaped glass material 1' consisting of borosilicate glass to the deformation point temperature; a molding step of pressing a glass material into a dome shape having a dome part 2 having a hemispherical concave surface 2a and a hemispherical convex surface 2b and a flange 4 by a die and holding the obtained molding at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time in the die; a stress removing step of heating the molding and gradually cooling it to room temperature; and a processing step of forming a groove-like escape part 5 in the circumferential direction between the hemisphere final end of the convex surface of the molding dome part and the flange.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
