Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing an inorganic fiber sheet, capable of manufacturing a filter base material which has sufficient strength, good wavy shaping, and excellent corrugate processing suitability, and including safety to the human body, even when a carrier quantity and a liquid-holding quantity of an absorbent are made large by thinning a thickness, saving a weight, and lowering a density, a fired body of the manufactured inorganic fiber sheet, and a honeycomb filter including the fired body.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an inorganic fiber sheet, as a method for manufacturing an inorganic fiber sheet which includes 30-92 mass% of at least one kind of an inorganic fiber selected from the group consisting of a glass fiber and an organism solubility inorganic fiber, and 5-40 mass% of β type sepiolite, includes (i) a step of manufacturing a nonwoven fabric by wet-type paper making raw material slurry containing the inorganic fiber, and (ii) a step of adhering slurry containing β type sepiolite to the nonwoven fabric.SELECTED DRAWING: None
