Abstract:
To prevent accident fire or deterioration of an exhaust gas component with a service life of an igniter kept, to stabilize a combustion state.SOLUTION: An engine controller comprises: excessive exhaust recirculation gas detection means configured to, upon lowering an exhaust recirculation gas ratio that is a ratio of exhaust recirculation gas to suctioned air, detect or predict occurrence of an excessive exhaust recirculation gas state that an actual exhaust recirculation gas ratio is larger than a target exhaust recirculation gas ratio; and ignition control means for controlling an igniter, configured to, upon detecting or predicting the occurrence of the excessive exhaust recirculation gas state, perform multiple ignition of causing the igniter to generate ignition spark multiple times per combustion cycle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
