Abstract:
To provide means for flexibly dealing with the incompatibility of a control command due to a peripheral component to expand the scope of selecting a function, performance, price, etc. of onboard peripheral components, to thereby improve the hardware expandability of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A status management unit 162 manages a status of an image forming apparatus 102, and a microcomputer command processing unit 181 communicates with a microcomputer device 103 attached to the image forming apparatus. The microcomputer command processing unit receives request data from the microcomputer device, and transmits response data to the microcomputer device. The microcomputer command processing unit then acquires the status of the image forming apparatus from the status management unit based on the request data, and determines response data according to the status of the image forming apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
