Abstract:
To optimize refreshing of a photoreceptor drum.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: an image formation unit 12B having a photoreceptor drum 121; a temperature and humidity sensor 60 for measuring ambient temperature and humidity of the photoreceptor drum 121; a timer 70 for clocking a time for which the photoreceptor drum 121 is left under a prescribed ambient temperature and humidity environment; a control unit 101 for causing the image formation unit 12B to perform a refreshing operation; and a storage unit 80 for storing a refresh table 81 in which a refresh amount corresponding to ambient temperature, humidity, and a standing time for the photoreceptor drum 121 are stored, and a cumulative refresh amount 82. The control unit 101 reads the refresh amount corresponding to the temperature, humidity and standing time, and adjusts the read refresh amount so that a refresh amount to be executed on the photoreceptor drum 121 will be less as the refresh amount is larger, and executes a refreshing operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
