Abstract:
To provide a lift mechanism capable of improving a service life of an endless turning body by reducing a load applied to the endless turning body, and to provide a paper feeder.SOLUTION: A lift mechanism 2 comprises a lift plate 3, a device body 2a and a drive part 5. The device body 2a holds the lift plate 3. The drive part 5 drives the lift plate 3 in a vertical direction. The drive part 5 includes an endless turning body 53 and an engagement part 56. The endless turning body 53 is stretched between an upper end part of the device body 2a and a lower end part of the device body 2a. The engagement part 56 is engaged with the endless turning body 53. The engagement part 56 is fixed to the lift plate 3. The lift plate 3 is elevated and lowered according to the rotational movement of the endless turning body 53. When the lift plate 3 is lowered and a force for stopping lowering of the engagement part 56 acts on the engagement part 56, the engagement part 56 releases the engagement with the endless turning body 53.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
