Abstract:
To prevent broken edge faces from interacting with each other and enable clean breaking having no chip in breaking a brittle material substrate.SOLUTION: Pushing a break bar onto a brittle material substrate 11 having a scribe line S toward the scribe line S breaks the brittle material substrate 11 along the scribe line S. The break bar is formed of an elongated member, and has a break bar body 21 having a T-shaped cross section, and left and right side bars 22, 23 elastically attached to the break bar body in left and right lower portions thereof to constitute a pair. The left and right side bars 22, 23 have a movement mechanism which moves the left and right side bars 22, 23 in a direction further from the scribe line as the break bar descends.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
