Abstract:
To provide a lipid production method capable of improving productivity of medium chain fatty acid or lipid comprising the medium chain fatty acid as a component, and a transformant in which productivity of the medium chain fatty acid or lipid comprising the medium chain fatty acid as a component, is improved.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a production method of lipid for cultivating a transformant in which a gene for coding a β-keto acyl-ACP synthase III derived from a plant which includes no medium chain fatty acid as main accumulated lipid, and a gene for coding acyl-ACP thioesterase having a substrate specificity to medium chain acyl-ACP, for producing fatty acid or lipid comprising the lipid as a component, and a transformant which comprises a gene for coding a β-keto acyl-ACP synthase III derived from plant including no medium chain fatty acid as a main accumulated lipid, and a gene for coding acyl-ACP thioesterase having substrate specificity to the medium chain acyl-ACP.SELECTED DRAWING: None
