Abstract:
To provide a method for producing porous cellulose beads safely and conveniently, without using a solvent of high toxicity.SOLUTION: A process for producing porous cellulose beads is characterized by comprising the steps of: a) mixing an alkali aqueous solution at low temperature and cellulose to prepare cellulose micro dispersion, b) adding water to the cellulose micro dispersion to prepare cellulose slurry, and d) bringing the cellulose slurry into contact with coagulation solvent. Preferably, after the step b), a step c) is included for an increased temperature of the cellulose slurry, and thereafter the step d) is conducted. Preferably, the cellulose micro dispersion has an alkali concentration of 8 wt% or more and 10 wt% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
