Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus with which it is possible to improve the accuracy of focus control.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 200 comprises an imaging element 211, an image data dividing unit 221, video signal processing units 231-235, recording units 241-244, an image data reduction unit 222, an automatic setting unit 251, a threshold determination unit 253, a readout control unit 270 and an autofocus control unit 260. The threshold determination unit 253 determines whether or not a focus area FA201 is larger than a threshold, and when determined as being larger, generates a setting area signal YS206 on the basis of reduced image data RD205. When it is determined that the focus area FA201 is not larger than the threshold, the readout control unit 270 indicates to the video signal processing units 231-234 that image signals YS201-YS204 for recording that correspond to an image that includes the focus area FA201 be read out from the recording units 241-244 and generates a setting area signal YS207.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
