Abstract:
To provide an electrode for electrolysis that improves durability with an excellent performance of generating ozone.SOLUTION: An electrode for electrolysis 11 comprises: an electrode substrate 12; an electrode reaction layer 13 which is formed on the surface of the electrode substrate 12 and is composed of at least one of a precious metal, an alloy including a precious metal, and an oxide including a precious metal; and a fluid restriction layer 14 having a binder as a primary constituent for restricting the contact area between water and the surface of the electrode reaction layer 13, being formed on the surface of the electrode reaction layer. Ozone is produced by raising the voltage for generating oxygen in a manner that the fluid restriction layer 14 restricts water from contacting the electrode reaction layer 13. By forming the fluid restriction layer 14 using a binder material, the fluid restriction layer 14 can be prevented from peeling and thus the durability of the electrode can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
