To provide a decorative body which exhibits various visual states by a change or the like of an observation direction.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: In a decorative body 3 in the Fig.7c, a base material part M has transmissivity, and a plurality of groove parts G are arranged at an interval. When an observer V views the decorative body 3 from a front surface for example, a back landscape is transmitted, and the groove parts G are hardly visible. On the other hand, when the observer V0 views the decorative body 3 from an oblique direction for example, if an upper part of a back groove side surface F11 of a front groove part G and a lower part of a front groove side surface F0 of a back groove part G0, out of the plurality of groove parts G, contact without a gap, a pattern of the groove part G is visible for the observer V0, and a back landscape is hidden. For the configuration, a depth de of the groove part G0 is larger than cot[arcsin(1/n)] times of a shortest distance di3 between straight lines L0 and Po2 passing a point Po1 on an end part on a side of a rear surface part S on the groove side surface F0 and vertical to a surface part S (n is a refraction index of the base material part M). By the decorative body 3 having a repeating pattern of the plurality of groove parts G having such a relationship, the problem is solved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
