Abstract:
To provide a pneumatic tire in which low fuel consumption performance is improved exceeding a conventional level thereof while maintaining steering stability and tire durability at a high-speed traveling.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire has a cap tread part, an undertread part and a belt cover layer from outside toward inside in a tire radial direction. A rubber composition for the undertread part is prepared by blending 40-80 pts.mass of silica based on 100 pts.mass of diene-based rubber including 70 mass% or more of natural rubber and/or isoprene rubber and blending a silane coupling agent of 2-15 mass% of the silica, and a ratio (S/M) of tensile breaking strength (S) to 300% deformation tensile stress (M) of the rubber composition is 1.80 or more. The pneumatic tire is characterized in that an absolute value, |M-M| of a difference between 300% deformation tensile stress (M) and that (M) of the rubber composition for a belt cover forming the belt cover layer is 3.0 MPa or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
