Abstract:
To provide a linear carrier device that can transfer articles safely.SOLUTION: The linear carrier device includes on a base 1: a stator 2 and movable elements 3 of a linear motor; and holding members 4 of articles provided at the movable elements. The holding members 4 are provided at a position separated by a predetermined distance outside in the radial direction against a traveling track A on the stator 2 of the movable elements 3. A controlling part 6, when the movable elements 3 travel on a curved traveling track A2 on the stator 2, controls so that a clearance between the adjacent movable elements 3 is narrower than a clearance made when traveling on a linear traveling track A1 immediately prior thereto, and when the movable elements 3 travel on the linear traveling track A3 on the stator 2, controls so that the clearance between the adjacent movable elements 3 is wider than the clearance made when traveling on the curved traveling track A2 immediately prior thereto, thereby keeping constant the clearance of the holding members 4 of the adjacent movable elements 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
