Abstract:
To provide a gas circuit breaker capable of improving an arc-extinguishing capability by effectively using a heat energy of an arc current.SOLUTION: A gas circuit breaker comprises a buffer chamber blowing an arc-extinguishing gas to an arc occurred in between a stationary contact part and a movable contact part when separating the movable contact part from the stationary contact part due to the generation of a failure current. The gas circuit breaker comprises a nozzle 10 guiding the arc-extinguishing gas into a puffer chamber 11 when a gas pressure becomes high in an arc circumference on the basis of an AC period of an arc current, and blows the arc-extinguishing gas to an arc A from the puffer chamber when the gas pressure is declined in the arc circumference. The movable contact part 2 comprises: a movable electrode cylinder 3 exhausting the arc-extinguishing gas blown to the arc to an external container; and a flexible part 9 installed in the movable electrode cylinder, and dividing the movable electrode cylinder into a peripheral direction in a plurality of division grooves 8 formed in a longitudinal direction of the movable electrode cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
