Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing recording at a proper position when performing recording at different positions in a sub-scanning direction on a going path and a returning path, more particularly, the image forming apparatus capable of performing recording at the proper position even after a shift lever on a carriage unit wears.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a carriage capable of reciprocating in a main scanning direction; and a head holder which is located on a carriage unit and is movable relatively to the carriage in a sub-scanning direction. Movement amount of the head holder in the sub-scanning direction is detected. A stop position of the carriage unit or/and a discharge port to be used for recording is changed on the basis of the movement amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
