Abstract:
To provide an appearance evaluation method and an appearance evaluation device for a weld bead that can evaluate the position of the weld bead with high precision continuously along a longer direction of the weld bead even if an undetectable section or an uncertain section is generated in detecting the position of an end part of the weld bead along the longer direction of the weld bead.SOLUTION: An appearance evaluation method for a weld bead comprises: a work shape detection step of detecting information on surface shapes W1, W2, W3, ..., Wn of a work 5 in an X direction of the weld bead 51 over a measurement width D1 by detection means along a Y direction of the weld bead; a measurement end part data generation step of detecting a rising position of the weld bead as a measurement end part and plotting it along the Y direction of the weld bead; and an approximate end part calculation step of specifying the position of a bead end part 51a by approximating data on the plotted measurement end part to a straight line or curved line along the Y direction of the weld bead and then calculating an approximate end part after interpolation between data on the measurement end part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
