Abstract:
To provide a printer which enables reduction of maintenance time of a discharge head to improve productivity of the printer.SOLUTION: A printer includes: discharge heads 42a, 42b having a first nozzle array 45C which discharges a first ink having viscosity higher than a second ink and a second nozzle array 45M which discharges the second ink; a first cap 81C which covers the first nozzle array 45C; a second cap 81M which covers the second nozzle array 45M; a first pump 83C which discharges a fluid in the first cap 81C to generate a negative pressure therein; a second pump 83M which discharges a fluid in the second cap 81M to generate a negative pressure therein; and a control part which controls the first and second pumps 83C, 83M. The control part sets a flow rate of the first pump 83C to a higher level than a flow rate of the second pump 83M.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
