Abstract:
To provide a spectroscopic element that contributes to reduction in size of a device, and to provide a spectrometer that uses the spectroscopic element.SOLUTION: A spectroscopic element 2 according to the present invention has a diffraction surface 2a on an XY plane to be defined by an X-axis and a Y-axis orthogonal to the X-axis. A center of the diffraction surface 2a is in an origin of the XY plane, and the diffraction surface 2a includes a plurality of band structures B, B, B... that serve as a diffraction element. The plurality of band structures B, B, B... are characterized in that in respective regions of X>0 and X<0, a width tapers as a distance from the center becomes greater, and reduction in width in the region of X>0 is slightly milder than that in the region of X<0. Further, a spectrometer according to the present invention comprises: the spectroscopic element 2; and a light-reception unit that has a light-reception surface parallel with the diffraction surface 2a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
