Abstract:
To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine which improves the startability of the internal combustion engine at a cold start by using a variable dynamic valve device which can select a valve-opening continuation mode.SOLUTION: A control device 60 controls an internal combustion engine 10 having a fuel injection valve 24, an ignitor 26, an intake variable dynamic valve device 30 which can switch a fundamental opening/closing mode and a valve-opening continuation mode of an intake valve 28. The control device 60 performs cold start control at a cold start. The cold start control includes startability improvement processing which is performed at a prescribed number of cycles after a start of cranking, and combustion start processing which is performed after the lapse of the prescribed number of the cycles. In the startability improvement processing, the valve-opening continuation mode is selected in at least an expansion stroke and an exhaust stroke out of an intake stroke, a compression stroke, the expansion stroke, and the exhaust stroke, and fuel injection is performed not accompanied by ignition. In the combustion start processing, the fundamental opening/closing mode is continuously selected during one cycle, and ignition is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
