Abstract:
To provide an electric parking brake system that operates with a necessary and appropriate braking force without operating with an excessive braking force and has improved durability.SOLUTION: An electric parking brake system 10 has a wheel 20 having an electric motor 26 as a driving source in a vehicle, a parking brake 22 for maintaining a stop of the wheel, a parking brake actuator 32 for actuating the parking brake, and drive control means 40 for controlling the parking brake actuator. When the vehicle is stopped, the drive control means maintains the stop of the wheel by controlling the electric motor, obtains stop maintenance torque on the basis of the control amount of the electric motor that maintains the stop of the wheel, obtains a braking force of the parking brake necessary for maintaining the stop of the wheel on the basis of the obtained stop maintenance torque, and controls the parking brake actuator to become the braking force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
