Abstract:
To solve the problem that thickening progresses in a nozzle during a period from conveyance starting time of a continuous medium to time when conveyance speed reaches set speed, thereby, normal liquid discharging cannot be performed when performing printing of a head page.SOLUTION: When a print job is started, pre-printing idle discharge operation is performed to discharge idle discharge droplets from a cap capping a nozzle surface of a head 100. When conveyance speed of a continuous medium 10 is reached to set speed, pre-head page idle discharge operation is performed to discharge idle discharge droplets to the continuous medium 10. Printing on a head page is started. Ongoing-printing idle discharge operation is performed during the printing. When the printing is completed and conveyance of the continuous medium 10 is stopped, post-printing idle discharge operation is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
