Abstract:
To measure with high accuracy, an upset quantity in a two-stage convergence type second welded condition.SOLUTION: A metal pipe manufacturing method has: a step in which a metal plate is transported in a transport direction, both ends of the metal plate are caused to face each other in a V-shape while forming the metal plate into a cylindrical shape, and a conflux part in which both ends come in contact with each other is welded; a step in which a geometrical V convergent point V0, a welding point W, and an apex angle θ are identified on the basis of a photographed image of a butt-joint part; a step in which a distance Lv0 between a squeeze roll center and the geometrical V convergent point V0, and a distance Lw between the squeeze roll center and the welding point W are calculated; a step in which an upset quantity of a pair of squeeze rolls is calculated by use of the distance Lv0, the distance Lw and the apex angle θ; and a step in which information indicating the calculated upset quantity, is displayed, or input power for welding is controlled on the basis of the calculated upset quantity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
