Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device, a vehicle control method and a program which can more preferably estimate potential risk related to an obstacle existing in a periphery of a vehicle.SOLUTION: The vehicle control device comprises: a peripheral situation recognizing part (132) that recognizes a peripheral situation of an automatic operation vehicle; operation control parts (140, 160 and 138) which execute operation control by which either one or both of steering and acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle on the basis of the recognized peripheral situation by the peripheral situation recognizing part; and a potential risk estimating part (138) that estimates presence/absence and the class of potential risk that the vehicle may encounter an obstacle on the basis of the class of an object recognized by the peripheral situation recognizing part and a positional relation between the vehicle and the object. The driving control part executes the operation control on the basis of an estimated result by the potential risk estimating part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
