Abstract:
To improve image quality by increasing a grayscale of image data while suppressing costs of an interface part between a controller part and an exposure head.SOLUTION: A control board 415 includes: a CPU 400 having an image data generating part 401 for generating binary image data by second resolution and a data transmitting part 405 for transmitting image data to an exposure head 106; and a control board 415 mounting the CPU 400. The exposure head 106 has a drive part 303 having a data receiving part 407 for receiving the image data from the control board 415, and controlling light emission from a surface light-emitting element, and a drive substrate 202 mounting the drive part 303. The control board 415 and the drive substrate 202 are connected by a cable. The CPU 400 transmits, by serial communication, the image data to the drive part 303 via a cable, and the drive part 303 has a filter processing part 408 for converting the binary image data received by the data receiving part 407 into image data of resolution of a multivalued surface light-emitting element array chip.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
