Abstract:
To realize a software lock step of a semiconductor device without adding hardware for the lock step.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device 2 includes CPUs 10 and 20, SPUs 210 and 220 for controlling a snoop operation, a CPU 230 having the highest level (ASIL D) of the functional safety standards, an arbiter 250, a memory 260, and a comparator. The CPU 230 permits the snoop operation when a normal operation is performed, and prohibits the snoop operation when a software lock step is performed. The CPU 10 executes first software for the software lock step and writes an execution result in a first area 262 secured in the memory 260. The CPU 20 executes second software for the software lock step, and writes an execution result in a second area 263. The comparator compares the execution result written in the first area with the execution result written in the second area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
