Abstract:
To provide a vent pipe closing balloon of a liquefied gas storage tank excellent in physical strength, expansibility and, durability under a low-temperature environment.SOLUTION: A vent pipe closing balloon has an inner membrane and an outer membrane made of silicone rubber, and a reinforcing base material sandwiched between the inner membrane and the outer membrane. The contour of the balloon is a cylindrical shape or a truncated cone shape with both ends opened, and is expanded by injecting inert gas with an opening sealed. The reinforcing base material is composed of a bundle of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers and has a network structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
