Abstract:
To provide a projector which can be downsized.SOLUTION: The projector includes: a laser light source; and a light modulation element for modulating light emitted from the laser light source according to image information. The laser light source has a substrate, a light-emitting layer, and a photonic crystal structure for closing the light emitted from the light-emitting layer in an in-plane direction of the substrate and making the closed light emitted to the normal direction of the substrate. The light-emitting region of the laser light source has a size at least equal to the size of the display region of the light modulation element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
