Abstract:
To provide a position detection system and a method for detecting motion of a machine, for example, even in a non-operation state of the machine.SOLUTION: A position detection system includes: a first position sensor 21 for detecting a magnetic field generated in a plurality of pairs of magnetic poles 211, 212 in which magnetic poles having different polarities are arranged in parallel to each other in a row; a second position sensor 22 for detecting a magnetic field in an individual magnet arranged apart from the plurality of pairs of magnetic poles arranged in a row at the center of the plurality of pairs of magnetic poles arranged in the row; and an evaluation device 205 for evaluating a detection result of the first position sensor detected on the basis of motion of a member of a machine relative to the first and the second position sensors and a detection result of the second position sensor. The evaluation device is configured to utilize the detection result of the first position sensor and the detection result of the second position sensor for identifying an error.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
