Abstract:
To improve hydrogen purification efficiency of a hydrogen generation system comprising a plurality of electrochemical devices connected in series in the flowing direction of hydrogen-containing gas.SOLUTION: In a hydrogen generation system 400 that improves hydrogen purity by allowing hydrogen-containing gas to flow from gas feeding means 402 to a first electrochemical device 100, a second electrochemical device 200, and a third electrochemical device 300 one after another in series, the amount of an ionomer per unit volume in an anode catalyst layer 305 of the third electrochemical device 300 is made larger than the amount of the ionomer per unit volume in an anode catalyst layer 205 of the second electrochemical device 200, and the amount of the ionomer per unit volume in the anode catalyst layer 205 of the second electrochemical device 200 is made larger than the amount of the ionomer per unit volume in an anode catalyst layer 105 of the first electrochemical device 100, so that proton transfer routes are increased in the downstream direction by communication of the ionomer to reduce proton-transfer resistance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
