Abstract:
To provide a glass fiber structure capable of improving sound insulation performance and chipping-resistant performance.SOLUTION: The glass fiber structure 1 includes a high-density layer 3 comprising a glass fiber and a low-density layer 2 having a glass fiber density lower than that of the high-density layer 3, wherein the high-density layer 3 and low-density layer 2 are laminated to each other and integrated together, and a polymer layer 4 comprising a rubber or a resin is integrated with the high-density layer 3 at an opposite side to the low-density layer 2 being laminated to. By this, for example, when used in covering an automobile engine room, the polymer layer 4 is arranged on the outside, hence its chipping-resistant performance can be improved. Also, with the polymer layer 4, its sound insulation performance can be improved. Moreover, as the polymer layer 4 is bonded to the high-density layer 3, gap-free bonding and integration have been enabled, hence handling property as an integral structure can be improved and its sound insulation performance can be improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
