Title:
SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2020089095
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a switching power supply device capable of taking measures against a power failure without increasing the number of external components and terminals when at least a control unit is integrated into an IC.SOLUTION: A switching power supply device 1 generates an output voltage Vout from an input voltage Vin by means of MOS transistors 2 and 3 and an inductor 4. The MOS transistors 2 and 3 are on/off controlled by a PWM signal from a pulse generation circuit 6. The output voltage Vout is fed back by an error amplification circuit 7. When an output terminal P is short-circuited, an output high voltage detection circuit 8 detects a high voltage. Even in a case in which the high voltage cannot be detected because the input voltage Vin is low, when the ON time of the MOS transistor 3 becomes long, a pulse time excess detection circuit 9 detects the high voltage. The pulse generation circuit 6 turns off and protects the MOS transistor 3 at any time of detection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
