Abstract:
To provide a method for making a guidewire for an endovascular medical system for treating a clot located in a target vessel.SOLUTION: The method can include forming a substantially planar distal end of the guidewire; and cutting a predetermined shape into the distal end of the guidewire. The distal end is wider than the remainder of the guidewire proximal to the distal end. The predetermined shape is configured to minimize the likelihood of the guidewire tip entering a perforating vessel when the guidewire is delivered through the neurovasculature or past the clot.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
