Abstract:
To enable desired discharge of a liquid from a discharge port, although a non-discharge state has continued for a long time.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head 1 comprises: a plurality of discharge ports 15 for discharging a liquid; a pressure chamber 17 containing recording elements 14 inside; a common flow channel 21 communicating with the plurality of discharge ports 15; a recording element substrate 10 including a pump 16 for circulating the liquid between the common flow channel 21 and the pressure chamber 17; and a flow channel member 20 laminated on the recording element substrate 10. The flow channel member 20 has a supply channel 22 for supplying the liquid to the recording element substrate 10; and a recovery channel 23 for recovering the liquid not discharged. The supply channel 22 and the recovery channel 23 are connected by the liquid to the same common flow channel 21, and a flow of the liquid is generated in an order of the supply channel 22, the common flow channel 21, and the recovery channel 23, according to a circulation pump 1001 disposed at a position different from a position of the recording element substrate 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
